4/18/13 - My Journey Begins

Today my journey officially begins. After posting my very first video last night, a lot of emotions have come to the surface. I wasn't really prepared for it like I thought I would be. If I'm being honest, I am scared...no TERRIFIED about what lies ahead for me. I know that my journey will be a forever journey which will be very hard at times. I will take whatever God sends my way. He will carry me through this just as he has carried me my entire life.

I have to say after I posted on Facebook yesterday about what I was planning on doing, I have had an outpouring of love and support. Some of it from people that I haven't heard from in over 25 years and some of it from people that I see everyday. I definitely wasn't prepared for that because I am overwhelmed...in a good way. I'm hoping that everyone stays with me for the entire journey, but those that don't or can't have made there mark on me and I will cherish it. There initial show of support will not be forgotten.

So my first step in this process is to take myself off of soda; anything with sugar actually. This is my biggest hurdle I think. I have Insulin Resistance and I CRAVE sugar. I crave it to the point of wanting to rip someone's face off if I don't get it. I become angry, agitated and rude. Some say my head spins around and my eyes glow. Regardless, it has to go. I know how bad it is and because of me, both of my children are addicted to it. Very sobering as a mom when you see your kids struggle with something that you do and it's completely your fault. Mom's guilt to the "nth" degree. I have been addicted to soda since I was a child too. I drink 3- 44oz sodas at least a day. I don't really drink anything else. It's not diet soda either, fully leaded soda; most of the time its Dr. Pepper. It will take me a couple of weeks I'm anticipating, but I will do it.

So until tomorrow...

P.S.: I shared a quote that I found that I felt hit the nail on the head. See below. Heart

Success is not a race, be patient.
Success leads to success.
Success is always a work in progress.
Success doesn't come to you--you go to it.
Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process.
Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it.
Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying.
Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED!
If at first you don't succeed-try, try again
