I didn't blog about this yesterday because at the time I posted I didn't know I would be going to talk to the person that could change my life forever. I think I mentioned in my very first post that I had posted something on facebook. Most of you have probably read it, but for those that haven't...
I was supposed to try out on April 20th for Extreme Makeover Weightloss Addition with Chris and Heidi Powell. The casting crew was going to be here in Phoenix and it was open casting. I had been prepping myself for a few weeks and had started the paperwork and video in preparation for that day. I was beyond excited and felt that this was going to be my chance to change my life. Last week I got wind of a format change for the show so I contacted the casting staff and sure enough they had completely changed the format. They were building it out as a 3 month bootcamp, which required being away from everything I knew; family, friends and work. I couldn't make that commitment for various reasons. I was crushed. After I made the decision to not try out, I moped around for a few days and then decided that this didn't have to be it. I could go about this another way. I was determined to make this work. I had to make this work. Something inside me clicked and it felt right; it was time. Time for me.
I was referred to Ammon Woods of "The Cell" Gym in Mesa. He does transformation weight loss among other things. Along the same lines as Chris Powell; only not on television. I emailed him and we scheduled a meeting for tonight at 6:30pm at The Cell. Roy went with me and when we pulled up, I thought I was going to throw up. I was shaking inside; nervous as hell. Roy and I met with Ammon for about 30 minutes. He showed us around, explained the program, we looked at pics of other people who were in the program and then he invited us to stay and watch the class work out. It's a pretty intense workout, but it was great to see what they do. I had an instant connection with Ammon. There's no ego. He's a pretty down to earth, humble person. You can tell he truly cares about people and wants you to be successful. It truly is like a family. He dedicates a lot of time to each person. I told him that I wanted to pray about it and talk to Roy about it before I made a final decison. It's a huge time commitment and financial commitment. Am I worth it? I'm going to say yes because that's the right thing to say and what I want to say, but if I'm being honest that voice in my head is telling me no. It's telling me that I'll just give up like I always do because it gets too hard. This is what I need to get past...to work on. I need to pray about it. I just know that I can't keep living like this. I cried all the way home and still tear up as I'm typing this. I'm so scared...terrified to take this step. I want so badly for this to be the time that I'm going to make it work. I need the self doubt to subside and in its place a strong, confident person.
I'm going to make a decision by end of day tomorrow. I'll blog about what that is tomorrow night.
Debbie
